When you plan for a baby room decor, the best thing would be to give attention to detail. Choose the one which would look eye catching to your guests, pleasing to you and comfortable to the baby. A well lit room could be beautiful provided it does not affect or strain the baby’s eyes.
Moving on first to baby furniture?. Baby furniture consists of items which could make the baby sleep and eat comfortably. An ideal, comfortable crib (which could give it sound sleep), high chairs, night stands (to store baby items in one place), and changing tables make up a furniture set for the baby.
The most important item in the furniture and of course the baby room decor is the crib. The crib has to be strong and durable, from a reputed company. It should be free from rough edges or unnecessary protrusions. The paint should not be lead based. Make sure that there are no decorative items which could hurt its head, back or limbs. There are cribs which have a one sided or two sided openings. You will also find cribs which are convertible and portable ones. There are cribs which look like cradles with a gentle rocking motion making your baby have a hearty sleep.

Teach Your Kids To Show Themselves They Care
by: Regina Pickett Garson
The day my daughter came home from school talking about a Valentine fundraiser my heart sank. The school was selling heart shaped brownies for the children to send to their “special friends.” They could even send them anonymously. Everyone, she explained, was trying to buddy up to make sure to get a brownie. I know this is not nice to presume, but what if your child doesn’t get a brownie, what if they don’t find a buddy?
Most of us can remember times when we were left out. Maybe everyone else paired off for a dance and we never got a date. The most popular kid in class threw a party and we weren’t invited. Luckily, a brownie is easier to produce than a date or a party invitation. It’s also easier to use in learning to love and appreciate yourself.
One event comes to mind, which was very special to me. I won a small award, nothing grand on a world scale, but I wanted to celebrate and I really wanted flowers. Now, my honey would have bought me flowers if I had told him I wanted them, or I could have even sulked until he read my mind.
No commentsPlaying An Active Role In Your Children’s Homeschooling
by: Donna L. Miller
Homeschooling is an option that many parents choose when they feel that, for whatever reason, their child will not be getting the best education in a public or private school system. Homeschooling allows for a variety of curriculum and teaching techniques to be applied that suit your child’s particular needs - often that is unlikely to happen in a large classroom setting. One of the benefits - and also one of the difficulties - in homeschooling is the extreme amount of flexibility it affords. In order to homeschool successfully, it is important that you understand, and decide how to handle this conundrum.
While there are many benefits to homeschooling, it also requires discipline. In the same way that working from home can be difficult, homeschooling can be difficult because it requires you make a distinction between home and school while still remaining at home. Like almost everybody, there are going to be times in your family life when you are extremely busy or dealing with serious distractions. It can be tempting at these moments to try and multitask: that is, to both educate your children and deal with other aspects of your life. There can be a tendency among homeschooling parents to place an assignment in front of their children and then leave the room to engage in other activities.
No commentsWeight control is a prevalent concern for many women after pregnancy. Although common during pregnancy, weight gain is difficult for many women to handle emotionally. Many women are unclear about how to separate fact from fiction concerning this “post-pregnancy” weight control. First of all, women need to understand how much weight gain is actually “normal” during pregnancy. Do try to keep in mind that your pregnancy weight wasn’t gained overnight so it won’t disappear that quickly, either. As a matter of detail, you gained that weight so that you would have plenty of reserves for feeding your baby.
Eat healthy foods. This really is unnoticed, though. Emphasize nutrient rich foods, which are not having too much fat. Avoid oily snack foods and so-called healthy foods like cheese and complete milk. Eat more fruits, vegetables, grains, pastas and beans and avoid red meat and salads laden with dressing. Try to build some outdoor activity into your day. In some way walk with your baby every day and try to get a jogging stroller added to your wish list. Sling makes carrying your baby more resourceful and burn more calories. Drink plenty of water. Avoid soda, cool drink and juice. Some foods are they were truly empty calories. Combining 200 fewer calories per day of higher fat foods that’s just a couple portion of dressing or a piece of cheese with 20 minutes of a good walk with your baby will lead to exactly the weight loss and conditioning you want. Add in a little formal or informal yoga and stretching and you’ll get there even sooner.
No comments21st Century Children
by: Scott Bianchi
I didn’t have a child back in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and so on. Technically, I have nothing to compare raising a child in the 21st century too, except for my own childhood experiences, but I would have to say that raising a child now is more difficult than 30 years ago.
I have to first start off by saying that no matter when you have your child it is not an easy job to raise the child properly. Raising a child in the 21st century is a constant challenge. How do you keep all the negativity that is on TV away from them while they grow up. It is good to know what goes on and I don’t want my kids to be “sheltered” but night after night on the news you hear about someone being killed. You hear about homeless people being beaten by punk teenagers for no reason, or elderly women being robbed and raped.

Have you ever been shopping in a busy mall, stopped to look at something only to discover that in the brief time it took to do so, your child has wandered away from you? If in reading this question you are able to answer no, you undoubtedly know someone who has been in this situation.
Each minute, somewhere in the country, a parent is separated from their child. These separations sometimes last only a few seconds; in other instances they last much longer, causing the store to go into a lock-down situation. The truth of the matter is, wherever there are large crowds; parades, country fairs, busy city streets etc., young children will inevitably become separated from their parents.
In speaking with hundreds of parents a week, though the situations and circumstances may vary slightly, we hear the same scary tale over and over again. The end result is always the same.
Panic in its purest form, 100% pure unadulterated panic.

Even though you have practiced the trick hundred times or more and in front of the mirror, it’s never the same when you are about to do it to real people.
Well, have no fear, as this you’ll be glad to hear it can be conquered and you will pull of your trick like the pros!! You see, it is natural for our body to tense up when the spotlight is on you, now not everybody is the same, some people are just naturally gifted to have that knack of performing for people, they love the spotlight, then there are the other 90 percent that have to work at it to get comfortable of the beading eyes watching there every move.
No commentsWooden high chairs with their looks and functionality make a great addition to any kitchen or dining room, no more plastic, teddy bears or bright colors, so no more hiding your high chair.
Wooden High Chairs are simple and elegant and a welcome addition to your home, with designs ranging from contemporary to country and finishes like cherry, oak, natural wood and maple, you are bound to find the wooden high chair that will complement your home as well as your budget.
Some manufacturers such as Eddie Bauer, are realizing that not only is durability important to parents, but comfort for their baby is a top priority as well and are beginning to add seat cushions to their wooden high chairs, making them more comfortable for your little one.
One drawback to using a wooden high chair is they do not recline, so therefore are not great for infants that can not sit up unassisted, however once your baby is sitting up on his or her own, usually around 4-5 months old, these are wonderful. This means that you will need a high chair that is suitable for infants in the meantime.
No commentsHow To Make A Memorable Scrapbook For Your Childwithout Having A Masters Degree In Art!
by: Jennifer Tarzian
When my son was only a few months old, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a scrapbooking party. I had no idea how much fun putting together a few pictures could be! Immediately, I was hooked. I had been taking pictures constantly since the day my baby was born, and now I finally had something to do with them all!
Even though I take most of my photos with a digital camera, I really enjoy putting the “real” pictures down on paper. It is almost “therapeutic” for me. After a long day, and my son is put to bed, this is my time to devote to his scrapbook - and it is fun.
I’m no master of the creative arts by any means. In fact, my pages are pretty simple. But I have learned a few tips along the way that have made my scrapbooking a success to me.
No comments4 Parenting Styles
by: Dana Goldberg
Every grandmother and grandfather will tell you hilarious stories of their children when they were first born. And for every funny and touching story they have, they will be able to tell you another for every hardship they encountered. Parenting is something that is done in many different ways by each parent. The following are four general styles employed by parents.
Authority: Authoritarian parents rule on just that: authority. Commands are given to children that they must follow regardless of the circumstances. If these commands are not followed, harsh punishment will ensue. These parents do not welcome feedback from their children. In fact, it is met with severe punishment. The children tend to be quiet and unhappy. They have more of a fear than a love for their parents. Male children have trouble dealing with anger and female children have trouble facing adversity due to their heavily structured life where nothing ever changes.
